Cat & dog repellents ✓ barriers ✓ deterrents
Cats and dogs are popular pets in our surroundings, but when these animals enter our house and garden as unwanted visitors, they can quickly become annoying. Cats and dogs will often enter neighbouring gardens or houses and leave behind the excrements or marking their territory by urinating. This can affect the quality of life in many ways, and cats might even cause the financial damage by “fishing” in the pond. Apart from the fact that many people are allergic to cat and dog hair, it is simply irritating when the neighbours pet prowls through the garden on a daily basis, acting as if it were his garden.
The concept behind our products Dog Repellant and Cat and Dog Repellant is to keep felines and canines away from our homes and gardens in a natural way without harming them. Animal rights activists are often critical of the products, thinking they might be harmful. But actually the opposite is the case because dogs and cats are repelled only by high frequencies which they find very annoying, but which does not harm them in anyway.
Cats and dogs do not understand that it is quite unsanitary for humans when they lie in beds or on sofas. Our repellents will also keep them away from bedrooms or other rooms that they should not be unattended. The policy is a conflict free life between humans and animals. We do not want dog piles or cat piles lying around, as an unwanted contact with them can cause health problems, especially to children. It is also quite undesirable that your own cat or a neighbouring cat empties the fishpond, only following instincts and the desire for fresh fish.
What could the conflicts be when living with cats and dogs in the house or in the neighbourhood?
Car: the engine will develop heat, and cats will often use the bonnet is a resting place, sometimes scratching the paint in the process. The soft roof of a convertible is also a very cosy place for a snooze often leaving cat hairs and scratch marks on the material.
Garden pond: expensive coy and red goldfish in a pond with accessible shoreline can be a huge attraction for the hunting skills of the feline species, mostly resulting in a decimation of fish population and a frustrated pond owner.
Sandbox: sandboxes are very attractive, especially for felines, as they will always try to bury their excrements in the earth. The loose sand can easily be dug into. Many dogs also prefer to place their dog piles into sandboxes.
In a sandbox urine is very difficult to identify. But excretions and urine are most undesirable in a place where your child is going to play during the day.
Terraces and patios: Cats enjoy to be near people and especially in the summer, when their own family or the neighbours are sitting on the terrace or in the garden enjoying coffee and cake or having a barbecue. It is the best time to rub against legs, get a cuddle and scrounge some morsels from the table. It is also the best moment to slip unobserved through the door into the cool house, explore everything and get really comfortable.
Front door and front gardens: Cats and dogs like to use the front garden as their local toilet. Once this habit has started it is only a matter of time that others will follow their example, making a statement:” I was here”.
Bedroom: Cats and dogs become comfortable in bedrooms, they will often leave hair, unpleasant ordure and dirt behind, sometimes even their feces.
Kitchen: Cats and dogs always feel hungry and their nose will tell them where they can find food. It can happen that you suddenly have a dog or a cat in your kitchen, because you’re cooking has created a mouthwatering smell in the neighbourhood.
Playground: there is always a danger to children playing unattended with dogs or cats as these can cause injuries, sometimes being infectious. Dog and cat excrements can also be hazardous to a child’s health.
What possibilities do I have to keep cats and dogs away?
For many animals there are often simple remedies to keep them away. When you have ants, you lay down baking powder. Snails are attracted to beer and flies can be hit with the fly swat. The remedies however are only limited to these animals. Cats and dogs are often integrated into our lives like a family member and are allowed to use the same habitat. Banishing them from certain areas by using force or harmful methods is out of the question. On the other hand we don’t want the dog piles or the urine stains, so we have to find other ways of dissuading cats and dogs entering these areas. This can only be done by making the areas that we want to be kept free of cats and dogs unattractive and uncomfortable.
Certain smells can be of help, but usually they have to be laid down in such a concentration that not only dogs and cats feel harassed, but also humans. The use of ultrasound devices provides an acceptable alternative. Cats and dogs can hear in a higher frequency range than humans. Therefore a loud, high-frequency sound that we cannot hear will be irritating to an animal, without taking any effect on humans.
As a protection for your environment, for your health and from stray dogs and cats, we recommend Gardigo Dog and Cat Repellant. This repellent will permanently keep away cats and dogs so that garden, garage, carport and house of free of dog piles and cat urine. The Gardigo Dog and Cat Repellant is available both with battery (Gardigo Dog and Cat Repellant) as well as with solar energy (Gardigo Dog and Cat Repellant Solar).
How does an ultrasound device keep away cats and dogs?
The device emits a constant ultrahigh sound. Ultrasound is in a frequency range that humans cannot hear. Cats and dogs however find the sound extremely unpleasant, especially if it continues for a longer period of time. The animals will not immediately react, but over a period of one or two weeks they will start avoiding the areas, because to them it is uncomfortable and they learn that the sound is there at all times. Within three weeks the area covered by the ultrasonic speaker will be free of unwanted visitors.
Cats and dogs will first take in the sound subconsciously and like humans, animals have different stress levels. Cats and dogs react to sound differently. Once this level is reached the animals will try and locate the source of the irritation and eliminate it. As this cannot be done, the animals will start avoiding the areas.
