Products marked with this seal are manufactured in Germany. “Made in Germany“ is seen by many consumers as a promise of quality. For us, it is much more: The production of wooden products in Germany is part of our sustainability concept, because the production location in Germany offers many advantages for the climate, the environment, and the people who live and work here.

Timber from Germany

The lumber from which our "Made in Germany" products are made is usually purchased from a sawmill in Germany. Deforestation is not a threat here. In addition, a high quality of wood and processing is guaranteed.

Promote regionalism

Sustainability certificates for wood are important, but not always the most climate-friendly option. Our supplier can purchase spruce wood locally. Timber with a certificate, on the other hand, often has to be sourced from Scandinavia, as only a few forests in Germany are certified.

Local instead of Asian

Our "Made in Germany" products are made from local wood species. Many insect hotels and nesting boxes are made from fir. This may sound like a native species on first glance, but it’s often “Chinese Fir”, which is actually a tree in the cypress family. Such products are transported around half the globe.

More climate-friendly

By using native species and, where possible, regional forestry, we can shorten transportation routes and thereby save CO₂ emissions and pollutants. Typically, we use fast-growing spruce wood. In durable products, the CO₂ remains bound for a long time.

Social sustainability is close to our hearts. We work with workshops for people with disabilities that produce our products. In this way, the customer contributes to supporting important social institutions with their purchase.
